Neurodiversity is a spectrum

This was a fantastic opportunity to talk more about things I’m passionate about, in this instance a hidden disability. I chose Dyslexia because it’s one of the ways in which I am neurodiverse, it’s heavily linked to my writing and there’s so much misunderstanding about what it actually is!
So often when I mention dyslexia I’m met with assumptions that I only struggle with reading/writing, but Dyslexia is more about information processing.
It does impact written communication but also auditory (spoken), information retention (my memory is awful) and the speed at which I can get my brain through a thought process. Sometimes I’m fine but other times, mainly if I’m in a noisy or otherwise stressful environment/brain space, my thought processes slow right down. It’s incredibly frustrating.
But there is a lot of tools out there and so many are awesome and are game changers. These days the main thing I struggle with are assumptions. So I’m hoping to raise awareness about what Dyslexia really is and this was a fantastic opportunity to do so.
