Horror fiction has long been a vehicle for exploring humanity’s deepest fears. Still, among its many subgenres, cosmic horror stands out as uniquely suited for tackling themes of bodily difference and societal anxieties. Rooted in existential dread and the insignificance of humanity in an indifferent universe, cosmic horror offers a lens through which we can examine disability in ways that challenge traditional narratives of tragedy, overcoming, and normalcy.
